The Spain international is a priority target for Los Blancos in 2025.
Following Toni Kroos' retirement, and the imminent departure of Luka Modric, the Madrid giants consider Rodri the ideal choice to take up the mantle in midfield.
However, OkDiario says the Premier League champions are ready to block any attempts to lure the Euro 2024 winner away from the Etihad Stadium.
City are set to offer the 28-year-old a massive new package worth €450,000-a-week to keep hold of him for the foreseeable future.
Rodri's current deal will reach its expiry date in 2027.
