Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has agreed to terms over a new contract, as per BBC Sport.

The Spaniard is set to put pen to paper on a new deal until 2027 with the London-based giants.

Arteta's current deal expires at the end of the season, but he has now committed to Arsenal after guiding the team to clinch second spot in the Premier League in the past two seasons.

The 42-year-old was appointed in 2019 and has since then led the Gunners in 234 matches across all competitions, with an average of 1.97 points per match.

He previously worked as an assistant manager under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
