ALBAWABA - The late Princess Diana, a figure that will live in the hearts of people for many years, now has a personal item of hers going up at auction.
The black sheep sweater worn by the late British Princess Diana is heading for auction later this summer after being found in an attic, and It will be offered by Sotheby's for sale in an online auction, which will be held between Aug. 31 and Sept. 14. The estimated price for the black sheep sweater is $80,000.
The black sheep sweater was designed by the "Warm & Wonderful" in the late 70s, a British fashion brand, which stopped producing this 'black sheep' kind of style back in 1994, but new interest in this sweater rose thanks to the actress, Emma Corrin, wearing it in the third episode of The Crown. Warm & Wonderful decided to make more of this design with the collaboration of the American knitwear brand Rowing Blazers.

(Warm & Wonderful)
The sweater bears a picture of a black sheep among a group of white sheep, hence the name 'black sheep', and it's made of 100% cotton.
Princess Diana was first photographed wearing the sweater back in June 1981, a month before her wedding, and soon after her engagement to then-Prince Charles, who was the heir to the British throne. She wore it as she watched Prince Charles play polo.
A few weeks after Princess Diana was first seen wearing the sweater, the late Princess's private secretary returned the sweater to Warm & Wonderful for repairs, but the brand sent a replacement to the Princess instead, keeping the original. Princess Diana ended up wearing the new sweater for a photo shoot in 1983.
Warm & Wonderful co-founder Joanna Osborne found the original sweater in the attic of her home in March, which is how it's going to end up going up at auction. A lucky find like this doesn't happen every day, and it's not every day someone gets the chance to get something left behind by the stylish Princess, but it'll be someone's reality soon.
