ALBAWABA - Forty days after the death of Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, no new leader was picked to head the Russian-state-funded private military company.
The name and the photo of Yevgeny Prigozhin's son circulated pro-Wagner Group accounts on Telegram, where some claimed that Prigozhin might have left a surprise commandment to his son.
It is worth mentioning that belated Wagner Group leader Prigozhin was killed after his private jet crashed between St. Petersburg and Moscow on Aug. 23 two months after he led a failed mutiny on Moscow.
On June 23, Prigozhin led a rebellion against the Russian government, which is headed by Vladimir Putin, due to increasing tensions between the Russian Ministry of Defence and the then-leader of Wagner.
Theories surrounding Pavel Prigozhin
In the past period, the name of Yevgeny's son Pavel Prigozhin has been trending on social media accompanied by his photos.
Many theories surfaced online as some linked it to a possible commandment, Prigozhin left to his son after his death claiming that Pavel would possibly get all the money his father had.
Meanwhile, other groups of people alleged that Yevgeny had a little bigger surprise for his beloved son, and baselessly claimed that Pavel Prigozhin might be named as the new Wager Group head succeeding his father.
A person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Possible return of the Wagner PMC, this time around under the command of Pavel Prigozhin, the son of Yevgeny Prigozhin."
The X user maintained claiming: "Reports suggest the Wagner group has received a huge influx of foreign volunteers and is possibly greater than its number of 50,000."
