Snamprogetti, the engineering arm of Italy’s oil giant ENI, has been awarded a $130 million contract by the Kuwaiti Oil Company (KOC) to construct a new booster station in northern Kuwait.
The deal follows an international tender for which Snamprogetti presented a bid together with several major Korean contractors, reports KsaToday daily.
Under the contract, ENI will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the Kuwaiti project.
The plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas. Upon completion, expected to be within a 30-month period, the plant will be linked by pipeline to various oil collection centers in neighboring regions.
A number of months ago, Snamprogetti was awarded an addition contract with KOC to boost northern Kuwait’s oil production by one million barrels per day (bpd).
Snamprogetti has been operating in Kuwait since 1975. –(MENA Report)
